Harris Landscape Construction is thrilled to introduce our new general manager. Daniel Rockwell has been involved in landscaping here in northern Nevada for close to twenty years, and he’s bringing his unique skill set and experience to our team. Here’s what you can expect from Daniel and HLC moving forward.

The Role of GM

Daniel’s role at HLC involves sales, estimating, design and production oversight. “My job is to make sure we have profitable projects and good cash flow, and to streamline processes for future growth opportunities,” Daniel explains. “I also feel responsible for carrying on the legacy of Harris Landscape (originally founded by Mike) and Dan Cozzi’s creation.”

Fortunately, Daniel is exceptionally well-equipped for the position. He got his start in landscaping in 2004 when he launched a landscape design/build company with a friend he met playing football at UNR. “I ran the day to day (sales, estimating, design, production management) and he was like a silent partner with the financial/business background,” says Daniel. Four years later, the pair parted ways and Daniel moved to Nevada Outdoors, where he ran the landscape construction division. He also spent five years at Soil Tech as the division manager. The company specialized in erosion control, hydro seeding, habit restoration and dust control, and Daniel credits his knowledge of the erosion control industry and experience with multi-million dollar public works and private development projects to his time here. Rounding out his experience is with time with LandArt. “That’s where I returned to the landscape design industry, working under a licensed landscape architect to fine-tune my skills with landscape design,” he says.

Bringing Daniel on board has greatly expanded our in-house design services, rounding out what we offer here at Harris Landscape Construction. Daniel brings a new level of expertise, and we’re excited for what’s ahead. Quick reminder if you’re planning landscape projects in 2021 – now is the time to start planning! If you have ideas in mind for your outdoor space, contact Harris Landscape Construction today.
