Special thanks to HLC customer Jeff for his feedback on his landscaping project from summer 2022!

“We contacted Harris Landscape Construction last year to discuss upgrading an existing paver patio. We were interested in updating the footprint with a more modern paving stone and adding a pergola. Daniel came out personally to walk the space. He listened to what we had in mind and asked questions about how we currently used the backyard and how water drained.

While we had a general idea of what we wanted, we were open to suggestions. Daniel put together a design plan that vastly exceeded our expectations. He recommended extending the patio space to resolve a sloping issue and adding a retaining wall, which would double as additional seating. His design plan included squared-off garden beds for a more modern aesthetic and updated metal curbing to replace the dated and curved concrete curbing running the perimeter of the lawn. We had a last-minute change with the addition of a hot tub, and he had a great suggestion for additional patio space to create a separate seating area nearby.

Daniel had answers to all of our questions. When we showed him a paving stone that we liked, he recommended an alternate brand that performed better locally. We shared images of plants and trees that we liked, and he made recommendations for varieties that were hardy enough for our northern Nevada climate.

The finished landscaping project has dramatically improved our backyard. Despite increasing patio space and adding a large pergola, the space feels bigger than it did before. The retaining wall and spa-adjacent patio space make our yard much more functional, and it all looks great. We’re pleased with the finished product and our experience with Harris Landscape Construction.”
