Landscape companies have been busy the last few years in Reno and Sparks, and Harris Landscape Construction in particular has had a very full schedule. One recent project was a large-scale update to a property in Reno’s Old Southwest neighborhood, which included the addition of an outdoor kitchen and fire pit, with extensive upgrades to existing landscaping, steps, and fencing. So, how did go? We caught up with the homeowners for their take on the project.
“We Knew it Would Be a Big Project”
When homeowners Tim and Lisa Carter contact Harris Landscape Construction for the first time, their existing patio area was pretty sparse, both in terms of landscaping and for outdoor seating and cooking. The Carters had big plans for redoing it, complete with an outdoor kitchen. “My husband is a retired chef,” explains Lisa, so this feature would be a centerpiece of the new design.
They started researching researching local landscaping companies, and Harris Landscape Construction came up quickly in their search. “I could tell from their website that they had a professional look,” says Lisa. “Daniel scheduled a first visit with Tim and I and I could tell he was the right person for the job.”
The homeowners shared their ideas for the project with the HLC team. “My husband’s vision for the kitchen was something Daniel immediately knew was important,” remembers Lisa. When the work began, things went smoothly. “The HLC team was very professional and very hard working,” she says. “Adrian paid close attention to all the fine details. Daniel went out of his way to communicate all aspects with us. Since I was working in Denver for most of the project, Daniel and I did a lot of emailing back and forth. It was especially helpful when we were selecting the granite for the outdoor kitchen. Daniel even went and took photos of the granite with the tile siding we had picked out. He went above what I could have asked for.”
We asked the Carters about their favorite parts of the project. It’s not an easy choice! “Tim’s favorite part is the outdoor kitchen,” says Lisa. “My favorite was picking our the granite and the stairs that were built, creating two entrances into the large paver area. I also am looking forward to seeing everything in bloom and the landscaping come to life.”
The Carters have previously worked with other landscapers, but found this project with the Harris Landscape team a dramatic improvement. “HLC by far is the complete package,” says Lisa. “The difference is that everyone at HLC wanted to see Tim and I see our dream backyard come together.”
Lisa says she would absolutely recommend the HLC team to anyone looking for a landscape construction company in the Reno area. “Tim and I really appreciated the attention to detail in every aspect of the project,” she says. “I knew we were in good hands every step of the way. It has been the best experience for Tim and I and we cannot wait to entertain and cook for our friends.”
Thank you, Tim and Lisa, for trusting us with your project. It was an absolute pleasure and we can’t wait for warmer weather so that you can enjoy your beautiful new outdoor space!
